Q: Does FIPG sell insurance?
A: No! Despite the popular misconception, FIPG does not now nor has it ever sold or provided insurance coverage. FIPG was created in the 1990s to investigate the possibility of providing group insurance coverage for a number of fraternities. However, that effort was short-lived. FIPG has nothing to do with fraternity/sorority insurance or insurance coverage.
Q: What does FIPG do?
A: Provide risk management guidelines and educational resources to help member fraternities and sororities be more effective in their risk management policies and educational efforts.
Q: Why is FIPG so well known throughout the greek community, including college campues?
A: Early in its tenure, FIPG developed a set of risk management standards that member national greek organizations adopted. The FIPG policy has become synonymous with risk management policy at more than 45 national greek menÕs and womenÕs groups.
Q: Where can I find these risk management standards?
A: The FIPG web site includes the FIPG risk management guidelines.
Q: Can my organization use them?
A: Yes! The FIPG risk management guidelines are available for use and/or adoption by any greek community.
Q: In addition to publishing its risk management policy, what does FIPG do?
A: FIPG is building on its risk management education reputation to reach out to legal, educational and industry-related groups to bring information to our members regarding effective risk management. Through a growing number of partners with well-known greek industry backgrounds, FIPG members have the opportunity to quickly get expert opinions and information on questions ranging from the very specific to general policy.
Q: Why is FIPG worth my time?
A: There is no other organization within the international greek community that is focusing exclusively on risk management resources for our members. In addition, the information made available to our members is routinely made available to other greek-life professionals on college campues throughout the country.
Q: What if I want information from FIPG? How do I get it?
A: Our web site is probably the most effective way to get FIPG information. If you cannot find an answer to a question you have on our website, you may e-mail one of the FIPG directors. Their e-mail addresses are included on the website.
Q: I need a campus program on risk management for my IFC. Does FIPG have presenters and programs available for my campus?
A: FIPG is a volunteer run organization and focuses primarily on the needs of our 47 menÕs and womenÕs member fraternities. Routinely FIPG makes information for our members available to the rest of the greek community but FIPG does not have the resources or personnel to make risk management presentations.
Q: Does FIPG enforce or monitor its standards?
A: FIPG provides information and resources to our members. FIPG is not an enforcement body and does not monitor or enforce risk management standards.
Q: Who currently belongs to FIPG?
